This lesson was developed in our ETE 371 class at Bradley University, which was a course focused using technology in the classroom and creating effective assessments. This WebQuest uses primary resources to teach 11th grade students about The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald in both an English and art classroom. Students will create an invitation to a Jay Gatsby party along with an essay detailing the research they did for their project. Students will need to incorporate details from the novel and from art movements during the Roaring '20s, such as: music, popular dance, attire, a possible guest list, and transportation options. The invitation will be a brief assessment of their research, and students will present their knowledge using primary sources from the 1920s in a reflective essay.
